Executive function is a harsh mistress. Last year I took like a month-long break from social media when I realized how burned out I was from election coverage. Part of my goal was to try to fix the things in my life that weren't working, come up with better routines for my day-to-day life and catch up with things around the house that needed catching up.
I had three thoughts: Take care of yourself! We need you. and Thank you for this reframing (I have ADHD and it can be very challenging for me to prioritize and take baby steps. I think the correct order for my thoughts are 1) Take care of yourself!, then waaaaaaaaaaay distant second 2) Thank you. then waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the list 3) We need you. Which is true, but you know, a very distant, distant third to the first two. <3
